Larva

Larva studied at the University of Buenos Aires and has since developed a career based primarily in graphic design and illustration.

Following the explosion of street art in Buenos Aires in 2001, Larva developed a cast of characters and a personal language of symbols to help him to artistically process the new currents of popular culture that were invading Latin America. Skate culture has played a fundamental role in the development of his style.

Larva’s visual language is very playful and cartoon-like in nature, but often hints at darker and more sinister themes. His signature character is a friendly looking yellow figure with a lopsided toothy smile and blank stare, whose trailing blood and guts contradict his seemingly innocent playfulness.

In addition to urban mural and gallery painting, Larva has also custom designed skateboards and created sculptural pieces from materials like wood and cardboard.

Larva takes on a large variety of projects with his former street art partner, Parbo, as a founder and partner of their design firm, Kid Gaucho.
