Defi belongs to the artist collective FASE, along with Tec and PMP. Together, these artists began experimenting with street art, illustration and motion graphics, and FASE went on to make an important impact on the urban arts scene in Buenos Aires in 2001.
Defi has always taken inspiration from his immediate surroundings. He consistently incorporates the pet cats of his childhood into his art, and they act as protagonists in much of his work. Through his explosive use of primary colors, large provocative figures, thick lines and dripping paint, the viewer catches a glimpse of Defi’s personality and dark humour.
Whilst his provocative style has a natural resonance with the streets, Defi defies categorical boundaries and has painted vibrant and wild images on everything from prison walls, railway sidings, car doors, canvasses and the t-shirts from his clothing line lindo killer.
In addition to painting and designing clothing Defi is also a musician and sculptor, and has participated in successful shows around the world.
